Judhar Vet Group
Since its humble beginnings from a single practice in 1994, Judhar has expanded to be a group of ten privately owned small animal clinics across the greater Brisbane area. Founded and directed by husband-and-wife team Andrew Beattie and Dr Judy Harbison, Judhar has grown into an environment of passion and care for the veterinary industry.
Judy and Andrew both graduated from the University of Queensland - in Veterinary Science and Agricultural Science respectively - and now lead busy lives with their family while running the company. The practices in the group have largely been purchased from older and very experienced Vets – they are well established and are constantly updated to make them a pleasant environment for staff, clients and patients!
Andrew started his career in commercial rural banking, and now uses his experience to manage the financial side of the business. He is also a partner in a family dairy farm in South East Queensland, and coaches rugby union in his spare time. Judy followed in her father's footsteps as a Veterinary Surgeon and graduated with her degree in 1990. After a stint in rural and overseas practice she purchased a one-person (Bulimba Vet Surgery) in 1994. Along with her particular veterinary interest in Surgery, Judy also acts as a Director of a not-for-profit called CVLC, which operates a de-sexing and micro-chipping clinic at the Logan Pound. Judy is passionate about continuing education, and completed an MBA in 2013 with the aim of further understanding the practice, and optimising the services able to be offered for pets, their owners, and our teams.
Judy and Andrew have three children, an energetic Burmese cat named Flower, and a boisterous standard poodle named Badger.
Where Are We?
Judhar vets are all located in and around the beautiful city of Brisbane - the capital of Queensland, the Sunshine State. Our ten clinics are spread across various suburbs and areas, with a clinic within a 15 minute drive of the majority of the south side of the city, as well as a clinic in Strathpine, on Brisbane's northside.
